I retired from the computer field after 36 years. Like many, I’m interested in the relationship between AI and humans. We’ve far exceeded the Turing test and I’m curious to see what the future holds.
This blog will attempt to delve into the many facets of what this AI/Human relationship could look like.
Categories
AI for the 21st Century will provide articles describing:
- Environment – Here I’ll explore AI and the environment. I explore both the negative aspects as well as the positives. It’s quite the paradox.
- Technical – This is where we delve into machine learning, inference, the chip manufacturing process and more.
- Ethics – Ethics isn’t a backlog item, it’s a requirement. Individuals, companies and even countries are working on this right now. Learn what’s happening in this space from companies to countries and even the UN and EU. I also laid out my thoughts on an ethical foundations for AI.
- General – The general category is where I explore things like AI and the law, jobs and AI use around the home. It also contains checkpoint articles where I summarize the articles since the previous checkpoint.
Far to many dystopian narratives exist and it’s time for a fresh perspective.
There are certainly many positive benefits to be had and yes, caution is required.
